Professor Gershovich suggest me to see Luke Waltzer, who is going to help me with wordpress. So far I took a few pictures from the school and I really like how this one looks . Now I just have to see Luke and trying to do my best for the final project !
My spring break was not so good because I have alot of work from school. the first week I had to meet my group for the presentation we discuss what is privacy and security, which is our topic. The next days I spent time looking for articles that were related to my topic and I found a lot information on how apps can steal your information from your phone. I found this video, which tell us how hackers can steal information from Facebook ID http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMlg3no-PAg . Basically my spring break was most things that I need to do with school and work I feel like it was too short, but it was nice and sad to see the school empty. Nice because I had the time to do some papers without distractions and sad because it was so nice outside and I couldn’t enjoy the nice weather.
As we know technology is been extended now days, which it makes things easy for us. Some people love it, other’s not much. all this new technology makes our lives much easier. Rose’s assertion about new media that now days everyone have access to any kind of program, which the new media make us participate with the new technology.
In fact, the blogs are make to express ourselves through the computer is like we are in control on whatever we want to say, and sometimes we dare not to say. We also , can be part of any change that we want to make in any website or blog.
I like the way , Jay Rose refers to”the people formerly known as the audience ” he is right now people not just want to get information but also , they want to interact with the new media, that’s why facebook has been so successful because it allows us to be part of it. I think we are in control of the new media because we have the choice of how we set up our privacy.
I found is so easy to made it, is just that I’m very indecisive with a little things that usually takes me longer. In this case was the picture, i was looking for someone with more expressions on the face and something that goes more with the lines. I thought about something related with Baruch and as everyone knows the library goes insane when we are in finals, I came out with this lines.
When I started reading the first pages of the book when he talks about Tv, it reminds me when I was in High School and I used to have a lot time and all I used to do it was watching Tv . Since , I got up the first thing I did was turn on the television and get ready for school, I used to have breakfast in the living room with television on, do my homework, and cleaning my bedroom the same way. I remember that after my classes, I used to run to get to my house to watch my favorite Tv show, it was insane how Tv used to control my life. At the beginning my mom didnt say anything she thought it was normal and because she has to work many hours she didn’t notice for how long I was watching Tv and during the weekends I used to go out with friends and my dance classes, church, so for my mom that was normal I used to behave as a good girl, until she started coming early for work is when she find that out that I had an addiction with the Tv ,she was so mad at me that she cancel the cable and we didn’t have Tv for a few months. After, I stop watching Tv and because my life totally changed now if I watch Tv 5 hours a week Im lucky is because between school,my job and my yoga classes absorb all my free time. Shirky also, compare Tv with Gin ,which is true both things can give an addiction.
Two weeks ago I went to this place called Georgetown cupcake the place was great, me and my sister had a good time. Cupcakes are so poplular for some reason thats why I came with this idea that how to make cupcakes my favorites are Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, so here it is how to make them:
Ingredients:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 (12-cup) muffin pans with cupcake papers.
In a medium mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. In a large bowl gently beat together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vinegar, and vanilla with a handheld electric mixer. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet and mix until smooth and thoroughly combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake tins about 2/3 filled. Bake in oven for about 20 to 22 minutes, turning the pans once, half way through. Test the cupcakes with a toothpick for doneness. Remove from oven and cool completely before frosting.
For the Cream cheese Frosting:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla together until smooth. Add the sugar and on low speed, beat until incorporated. Increase the speed to high and mix until very light and fluffy.
Garnish with chopped pecans and a fresh raspberry or strawberry.
Manovich described automation as a new media objects can be created automatically and can be manipulated easily. Automation is the automatic change of elements that may already exist. An example of this is the word processor can change to any format needed for the person who intends to use it, automatically. Another example is photoshop image. We can create any image by manipulate the changes made to an image so that the desired look could be created.
I agree with Manovich about that the human intent could be removed in part of the creative process.this probably why computer programs allow the user choose and move objects of the media format already exits. Is surprising how media has being change and how we can create new things.
At the beginning when social networking started to become popular, I wasn’t interesting that’s why I never sign up for my space or other social network. even though, all my friends and my sister were telling me how “cool” my space was, I didn’t sing up.
As the time passed and I realized how amazing the technology is, I started spending more time in my hotmail messenger trying to meet more people, which it was fun I met a lot of people and enjoyed chatting with them, but I have to stop because i feel like I was wasting a lot time . when I started to heard about Facebook I didn’t want to open an account because is a website more personal, and i thought it was like my space.
When my best friend was telling me about facebook, how great it was, that you could make more friends and reconnecting with people that I haven’t see them from along time. Even though, I was curious about it I didn’t see the point in making an account because I was trying to do good in school . But as heard more people talking about facebook my curiosity grew up more and more.
Finally, 2008 I joined Facebook. My friend was right I found all my friends from high school, friends that I lost contact because they moved to another state, or different life style. I had good time when we shared old memories, pictures. There seems to me that the time didn’t pass. I also, like to read the articles, or watch the youtube videos that my friends posted.
Social Network are very helpful. When I took a photography class I had to use Flickr it was a great experiences in terms of how organizing photos. And now Twitter, I never used it before hopefully by the end of the semester I will understand how Twitter works.
